Judges and lawyers refer to these records to understand how similar cases were handled and to apply the same principles in current cases. Court records ensure that the judicial process is transparent. They allow the public to see how decisions are made, which helps maintain trust in the legal system. This transparency also holds the judicial system accountable to the public.
